I got to chat with the needle drop :O)
This semester I’m determined to have my own radio show, just because I think it’d be fun, something new, and I’ve always loved music. I may do it with some of my friends if they’re still up to it, or I may fly solo. (or both?) Then I realized three things:
- I haven’t done a major overhaul to my musical collection and taste since two years ago. I mean, I’ve gotten new stuff and found new people here and there but I used to be so much more into getting into new (to me) bands.
- I’d need a name for my show. If the show with my friends works out, it’d be something like “two gays and ave” or “two gays, one girl” or something like that. If I’m on my own, WHAT WILL I CALL IT? no idea.
- Also, will I focus on one general genre? will I be repetitive with some of they other shows? What will I play? is the stuff I listen to too old? blah.
I’ve been listening to my last.fm recommendations for the past two hours while I wait for my next class and queue up my other tumblr. It’s helped a bit, as it usually does, with rejuvenating my interest in music and stuff. I guess we’ll see what happens.
There’s a house in my city where you tune into a certain station and you watch their Christmas lights in synchronization blink to the rhythm of the songs. I’ve always heard about these houses and want to go. But i haven’t shared a “first” moment with someone in so long.
And I feel like this is cute to do. I feel like this should be one of them.
There’s one on my street that my friend orchestrates ^__^ makes me smile every year
No doubt the genesis of western dance music is in Africa. The folks at Thomson Blog built an animated map to make the past 100 years of dance music interactive as well as informational. View this rad piece of research here.
